Scorchy Ray Shelton, disgraced swastika-wielding public school retiree, finally got an update to his legal case against Glendale Unified School District.
To put it simply, his case was a stunt from the beginning.
Shelton's lawyers (David Pivtorak) failed to provide the judge's required additional clarifications in additional filings-- not even with the 11th hour addition of fired activist teacher Jessica Tapia's Advocates for Faith and Freedom.
Fortunately, the hardworking real lawyers for Glendale Unified provided the facts to court, including the full text of the April 18th 2023 public comment that Shelton gave at the GUSD Board meeting.
This is the same board meeting where he held up his swastika art in front of the Board, teachers, parents, and children in attendance.
CONTEXT: Shelton pulled this stunt on Holocaust Remembrance Day. It was also the board meeting where Shelton's retirement paperwork (submitted 6 weeks prior, in March) was officially accepted by Board procedure.
Shelton's lawsuit alleged that his "free speech" was punished, and that he was "fired" from his job.
The entire filing from September 3rd, 2024 lays out why GUSD's lawyers are requesting that the case be fully dismissed, as Shelton has now failed twice to amend his original filing to tell the whole truth about what he did.
Remember, dear readers, that Scorchy Ray Shelton is retired (with a full pension, paid for by CalSTRS employees, including the fellow GUSD teachers, admin, and district he has spent nearly 3 years bashing). Shelton gets to keep everything but his dignity at the end of the day.
A likely final hearing is scheduled for October 8th-- we'll be watching to see if the legal geniuses at war with woke come up with any more angles for ol' Scorchy to try to fill the gaping hole inside him with settlement dollars.
